Golden Bay Sustainable Living
On the 25th-26th June, Small Time Developments participated in The Sustainable Golden Bay Hui that took place at the Sustainable Living Centre in Takaka. Presentations and panel discussions on sustainable energy solutions, farming diversity, mental well-being and self-organised communities were the main themes tackled at this gathering.
Energy Solutions for the Bay
Representing Small Time Developments, Débora Scholl was one of the four panelists discussing Energy Solutions for the Bay. Ideas and projects involving the use of energy produced by mini hydroelectric, solar, rocket mass heaters, and biogas systems were discussed. The panelists were invited to share what inspired them to turn to renewable energy, and their experiences in implementing these strategies, responding to various questions of the nearly 45 people in the audience. The panel discussion was led by Andy Williams who encouraged the crowd to think about possibilities for Golden Bay to become self-reliant in energy resources.

HomeBiogas
During breaks between presentations and panels, we were able to personally speak to around 10 individuals who were curious about HomeBiogas, sharing their personal projects and expectations with us.
It was a great privilege for Small Time Developments to participate in this Sustainable Hui in Takaka. We believe that small, individual initiatives for a more sustainable world are of high value and can be an inspiration for others. This was a great opportunity to share our knowledge, which we trust is the key for a community to move forward towards a more resilient and sustainable way of living.
